Federal Skilled Trades
Applications of Federal Skilled Trades program are evaluated according to financial capability of the applicant at the time of immigration to Canada. Since January 2015, applicants eligible for Federal Skilled Trades immigration program need to submit an interest statement through express entry system. This program allows individuals who have a job offer or a proper degree to work in certain jobs in Canada, to get permanent residence in one of the provinces in Canada except for Quebec.
Minimum requirements for immigration to Canada through Federal Skilled Trades program:
- The applicant need to receive a job offer from one or two employees in Canada for one year or have qualification certificate from a provincial or regional competent authority
- Have received a language degree from a valid language institute. Satisfy competency in speaking and listening to minimum of CLB5 level and in reading to minimum of CLB4 level.
- Have minimum 24 months full time specialized, vocational or professional experiences during last 5 years
- Can demonstrate her/his skills and experiences necessary for doing main operations of her/his job
Categorization of Canada Vocational Jobs
Currently, vocational jobs are classified Canada National Occupational Classification (NOC) system in following groups:
- Major group Code 72: industrial, electrical and construction occupations
- Major group code 73: maintenance and operation of machinery
- Major group code 82: jobs for supervisors and vocational jobs in fields of natural resources, agriculture and related productions
- Major group code 92: production and processing, factories, facility supervisor and central control operators
- Sub-group code 632: chiefs
