Requirements to get permanent residence Canada through Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
- As the first requirement, you need to get your master’s or Ph.D. degree from a valid university in this province. So, the first requirement is studying in this province. Ph.D. students can also apply for this program immediately after passing their units and defending their thesis (in one of the universities in Ontario) and they don’t need to wait for graduation.
- Study program need to be at least one year full time program for master’s programs and two year full time program for Ph.D. programs. Less than this periods will not be satisfied.
- You need to apply for this program at least two years after graduation from master’s or Ph.D. program.
- You need to be inclined to live and work in Ontario. This requirement seems simple but remember that if you has applied for another province, your procedure will be compromised. So, avoid applying for other provinces.
- Master’s graduates need to be in Ontario at the time of applying for this program and this presence absolutely need to be legal. But this not required for Ph.D. graduates and they can also apply from outside of Canada.
- IELTS general 6 in each skill or CLB 7.
- Having enough income or deposit. This is equivalent to the amount that is required for immigration.
- Attendance at Ontario at least for 12 month in last 24 months.
- And the last requirement is that you don’t intend to study in Canada any more. That is, for instance, if you have master’s degree, you don’t intend to apply for Ph.D. in Canada.
