  • Receive an acceptable degree from Quebec or waiting to graduate in 6 months after your apply for PR;
  • Graduated in less than last three years;
  • The program you attended at the university or college need to be more than two year full time (1800 hours).
  • Have advanced knowledge in French, i.e. study your program in French or have B2 French language degree at the time of applying for PEQ.
  • Afford your living, and if married, your spouse and dependent children entered in the application for CSQ at least for three months;
  • Not have a scholarship of your own country and don’t have any obligation to return to your country;
  • Be at least 18 years old, have valid passport, and if you fill application form from Quebec, you need to be a legal resident in Quebec at the time of submitting your application.   

Merits of PEQ

  • The main and the most important merit of this program in relation with other similar programs is that you don’t need to find a job or get a job offer after graduation. That is, if you meet the above requirements, you can apply for permanent residence immediately after your graduation.
  • You don’t need to graduate from a French program and even if you get a B2 French degree after your graduation, you can apply for this program.
  • Another merit of this program is that you can benefit this program until three years after your graduation. That is, you have enough time to get your French degree.
  • You can get your residence through this program quickly and easily. In fact, the only problem in this program is that you need to have al French language degree. That is, if you have a French degree, you can easily submit your application for permanent residence after your graduation in this province.
  • Costs of education and living in Quebec is lower than other populated provinces of Canada and this can be a significant merit.
  • Those who studied and graduated in Quebec have priority in the programs like Quebec skilled worker program. So, if you couldn’t use this program, you can hope that your chance is higher than other applicants for other programs of this province.

Quebec diplomas eligible under Quebec experience program (PEQ):

The applicant need to receive one of the following degrees in last 36 months or begin to study in a major which will lead to receiving one of the following degrees (in 6 month):  

  • Bachelor degree
  • Master’s Degree (including MBA)
  • Doctorate
  • Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC- diploma of college studies)
  • Diplôme d'études (DEP- diploma of vocational studies), attesting to 1,800 hours or more of study
  • Diplôme d'études (DEP- diploma of vocational studies) followed by an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP – Attestation of vocational specialization) attesting to a minimum of 1,800 hours of continuing education and leading to a particular trade

Not: remember that you can apply for CSQ 6 month before your graduation. In any case, CSQ is issued after submitting final list of grades together with certificate of successful completion or after submitting your degree.

 

Requirements for French language under Quebec Experience Program (PEQ)

To prove your French language ability, you need to:

  • Attend in a study program at Quebec; minimum of 3 year full time study in French in a high school or in a post-high-school program.
  • Complete an advanced French Language program in Quebec successfully which is offered by Ministry of Education or Ministry of Science, Research and Higher Education.
  • Pass a standard text approved by Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada that demonstrate your advanced language ability in French.

Post-Graduate Work Permit for Quebec, Canada

If you are graduated from a public or high school in a vocational program in Quebec offered by Ministry of Education of Quebec (MELS), you can apply for post-graduate work permit during 8 years after your graduation.

For this purpose, you need to:

  • Be 18 years old (or older) at the time of application
  • Have a valid study permit at the time of application for work permit
  • Have completed a full time an academic, vocational or professional training program at an eligible institution in Canada that is at least 900 hours (8 months) in duration leading to a degree, diploma or certificate, DEP or ASP
  • Within 90 days from receiving a written confirmation from the foresaid institute (eligible DLI) indicating that you have met the requirements to complete their program of study to obtain work permit (for example, a transcript or an official letter)
  • Receive a support letter from the institute where your major and length of study is included.

In summary, length of post-graduate work permit in Quebec Canada is:

  • For programs less than 8 month: is not eligible
  • For 8 month to 2 year programs: 2 year work permit
  • For 2 year and longer programs: 3 year work permit
